Heatwave Conditions Likely To Prevail Over Most Parts Of Country During Current Week:PMD
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has announced that heatwave conditions are expected to persist across most parts of the country throughout the current week.
The highest maximum temperatures recorded include:
– Mohenjo Daro, Jacobabad, Dadu: 49°C
– Sibbi, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Rohri, Khairpur, Sukkur, Padidan, Noorpur Thal: 48°C
– Mithi, Chhor, Bahawalnagar, Bhakkar, Kot Addu, Rahim Yar Khan: 47°C
According to the PMD, continental air is dominating most parts of the country, with high pressure in the upper atmosphere expected to continue for the next few days.
On Wednesday, heatwave conditions are likely to prevail over most regions. However, there is a possibility of partly cloudy weather with rain, wind, and thunderstorms at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and nearby hilly areas during the evening or night.
Over the past 24 hours, very hot weather has been reported in most areas of the country.
