Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Announces Squad for ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a pace-heavy 15-member squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, set to take place from June 1-29 in the West Indies, USA, and Caribbean.
No reserves have been named for the Babar Azam-led team. The squad is a mix of experience and new talent, featuring five debutants in the T20 World Cup and eight players from the 2022 tournament in Australia.

The squad announcement followed a two-hour meeting of the selection committee, including Wahab Riaz, Abdul Razzaq, Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam, Bilal Afzal, Gary Kirsten, and Mohammad Yousuf.
The PCB stated, “This is an extremely talented and balanced side that has a mixture of youth and experience. These players have been playing together for some time and look well prepared and settled for next month’s event.”
Regarding Haris Rauf, the PCB noted his fitness and effective performance in the nets, expressing confidence in his crucial role in the T20 World Cup.
Pakistan’s ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Record
Since the tournament’s inception in 2007, Pakistan has maintained an impressive record. The team won the 2009 event under Younis Khan, reached the finals in 2007 under Shoaib Malik and in 2022 under Babar Azam, and reached the semi-finals in 2010, 2012, and 2021.
