Punjab CM Maryam Visits Zero Line Kartarpur Sharif To Inaugurate ‘Besakhi’
Maryam Nawaz has expressed happiness on the honor of harvesting in Baba Gurunanak’s field.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif visited Zero Line Kartarpur Sharif in Kheti Sahib to formally inaugurate ‘Besakhi’ by harvesting the golden crop of wheat with a golden sickle. She expressed joy at the privilege of harvesting in Baba Gurunanak’s field.
During her visit, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also visited Pak Darshan Deodhi, where Sikh pilgrims warmly welcomed her. Sikh women greeted the Chief Minister with folded hands, showing a warm gesture of hospitality. Additionally, Sikh youths showcased traditional gatka performances, adding to the festive atmosphere of the occasion.
Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif also toured the Sarovar (Holy Pond), Samadhi (Prayer Hall), Guru Ghar, and had the darshan of Sangat during her visit. Additionally, she received a briefing about the Facilitation Center to understand its operations and services.
The leader of the Indian Sikh Jatha expressed appreciation for Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s efforts and the arrangements made for the visit.
He expressed gratitude to her for the love and care, stating, “We are all proud to see a daughter of Punjab ascend to the position of Chief Minister.” President of the Delhi Goroband Committee, Raminder Singh Bumrah, honored Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif by draping a Sarupa (shawl) over her.
Diljit Singh Sarnan presented a Kirpan and other gifts to Madam Chief Minister as tokens of appreciation. Furthermore, Sarupa (Shawl) and gifts were also presented to Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb.
At the Samadhi, the granthi head initiated the ceremony with a prayer, setting a solemn tone for the occasion. Provincial Minister for Minorities Ramesh Singh Arora extended a warm welcome to the Chief Minister upon her arrival. In turn, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif warmly greeted the Sikh delegation and proceeded to inspect the holy well. Additionally, she took the time to visit the Sikh Art Gallery.
Madam Chief Minister graciously joined the pilgrims at the Sikh Langar Hall, where she sat down and shared a meal with them. The Langar Hall served a variety of dishes, including boiled rice, curry pakoras, groundnut dal, sweet rice, roti, and pickles. Impressed by the quality of the food, Madam Chief Minister expressed her appreciation and engaged in conversations with the pilgrims. She also extended an invitation to the Sikh pilgrims to visit Punjab, fostering a sense of camaraderie and goodwill between the two communities.
Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, along with Provincial Ministers Ramesh Singh Arora, Bilal Akbar, Syed Ashiq Hussain Kirmani, MNA Anwarul Haq, MPA Wasim Butt, and Rana Manan, graced the occasion with their presence. Additionally, key officials such as the Secretary of Tourism, Secretary of Agriculture, Commissioner, and other dignitaries were also in attendance, further enhancing the significance of the event.
