Journalists Call For Global Action To End Gaza’s Humanitarian Crisis
Journalists from diverse media backgrounds expressed profound concern on Thursday regarding the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. They underscored the urgent need for international action to condemn the atrocities committed by Israel.
Journalists representing various media outlets gathered on Thursday to voice their deep concern over the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. At a seminar titled ‘Gaza, a Holistic Perspective,’ organized by the Palestine Foundation and the National Digital Journalists Club, more than 120 journalists came together to condemn Israel’s actions unequivocally, recognizing them as genocide against the people of Gaza.
During the seminar, the journalists decried the ongoing Israeli aggression that has persisted for the past 175 days. They highlighted the staggering toll of over 100,000 Palestinians killed or injured, with hundreds of thousands more left homeless and struggling to survive in makeshift shelters.
Despite a ceasefire resolution issued by the United Nations Security Council, Israel continued its attacks on the civilian population of Gaza, demonstrating a flagrant disregard for international law and basic human rights. The journalists called for global action to condemn these atrocities and bring an end to the suffering endured by the people of Gaza.
The resolution highlighted the tragic loss of more than 130 journalists in Gaza and paid tribute to their memory. It also called upon the global community to ensure the safety of journalists working in conflict zones.
Journalists present at the event expressed admiration for the resilience, courage, and heroism exhibited by the people of Gaza despite facing immense adversity. They urged the international community to stand in solidarity with Gaza and to take immediate action to address the ongoing humanitarian crisis.
Among the participating journalists were anchorperson Harmeet Singh, Secretary General of the Palestine Foundation Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam, former President of the National Press Club Shakeel Qarar, Senior Journalist Mazhar Barlas, Journalist and Researcher Razi Tahir, Bureau Chief of Bol News Ali Sher, Senior Journalist Ali Raza Alvi, Senior Journalist Dr. Sadia Kamal, and Senior Journalist and Bureau Chief of Public News Aamir Saeed Abbasi.
