This partnership between the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS) and Code for Pakistan (CfP) marks a significant milestone in the advancement of technological and educational infrastructure within the parliamentary sector. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between Mr. Muhammad Anwar, Executive Director of PIPS, and Mr. Shaji Ahmed, Chief Executive of Code for Pakistan, sets the stage for a collaborative effort focused on innovation and modernization.
A key aspect of this collaboration is the development of an advanced Learning Management System (LMS) that aims to enhance parliamentary training by transitioning existing in-person capacity-building programs to an online platform. This move is expected to expand the accessibility and effectiveness of parliamentary training initiatives.
During the signing ceremony, Mr. Muhammad Nazir, Director General of IT at PIPS, highlighted the current IT infrastructure and expressed optimism about the positive impact of this partnership on the organization’s technological capabilities. Mr. Shaji Ahmed commended the efforts of Mr. Fayaz Thaheem, Deputy Director of the Parliamentary Development Programme at PIPS, for his role in initiating the partnership.
