Models, Poster And Quiz Competition Held At AIOU

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) organized a models, posters and quiz competitions among students of BS Chemistry yesterday on account of International Periodic Table Day

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) hosted model-making, poster presentations, and quiz competitions for BS Chemistry students yesterday in celebration of International Periodic Table Day.

Professor Dr. Hajra Ahmed, the Dean of the Faculty of Sciences, honored the event as the chief guest. During her address, Prof. Dr. Hajra highlighted the significance of such gatherings, which not only offer students a platform for entertainment but also serve to bolster education and foster scientific inquiry.

She further noted that numerous science students harbor a creative flair enabling them to convey scientific concepts in captivating and enjoyable manners. During the event, a gifted student named Tayiba showcased a poem centered around chemical elements, garnering appreciation from all attendees.

The quiz competition featured 8 groups comprising a total of 32 participants. Group 7, consisting of Sharjeel Afaq, Rana Hamza Zafar, Saad Rizwan, and Saad Akbar, emerged victorious and were declared as the winners.

The Chemistry department students crafted 10 models inspired by elements of the periodic table, alongside displaying 15 posters for the competition. Every participant in the poster contest was awarded certificates in recognition of their creativity. This event was orchestrated as a component of the ongoing Golden Jubilee festivities of AIOU.
