Animal Actor Shafina Shah Loses Ms.Pakistan Title
The Miss Pakistan Company had steadfastly supported Shafina, even securing her participation in Miss Global despite her exceeding the age limit.
Shafina Shah, renowned for her role in “Animal,” has been dethroned from her Ms. Pakistan title after facing allegations of repeatedly soliciting financial backing for her film projects from Sonia Ahmed, the President of Miss Pakistan.
During an interview, Ahmed revealed, “Since November 2023, Shafina’s mother, Atia Shah, has persistently sought funding for her daughter’s film projects. Despite attempts to steer them towards local opportunities, they continued to pursue international funds. Even when offered another chance at an international pageant in March, they once again insisted on financial support.”
The situation escalated when Shafina subsequently posted a video on social media, alleging a lack of support from the national director, which further fueled the controversy.
The Miss Pakistan Company had consistently backed Shafina, going so far as to secure her participation in Miss Global despite her surpassing the age limit. Ahmed highlighted the extensive promotional efforts made for Shafina, including media appearances and press releases.
However, in response to Shafina’s actions, Ahmed regretfully revoked her titles and cautioned against unauthorized use. Ahmed warned that charitable organizations associated with the title without consent would face legal consequences.
Ahmed clarified, “While we have supported Shafina, it is unreasonable to expect us to finance her film ventures. We have advised her to refrain from soliciting funds, and we will not contribute to any future projects.”
