ASI Arrested Red-handed For Taking Bribe

The Anti Corruption Establishment (ACE) has arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) for accepting a bribe from an individual.
As per the spokesperson of ACE Lahore Region, in conjunction with a magistrate, a raid was conducted which led to the apprehension of ASI Rehmat Ali from Gulberg police station while he was in the act of receiving a bribe from a citizen. Rehmat Ali was caught red-handed while soliciting a bribe to expedite the bail process for the citizen’s brother. The accused ASI had already received 55,000 rupees from the citizen and was demanding an additional 10,000 rupees for further facilitation.
Upon receiving citizens’ complaints, Regional Director ACE Lahore, Ahsan Munir Bhatti, instructed the Circle Officer (CO) Lahore to take immediate action in collaboration with a magistrate. Subsequently, CO Syed Sohail Akhlaq, accompanied by the magistrate, conducted a raid and apprehended the accused ASI red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000. The marked note was recovered from his possession, and ASI was arrested after a case was registered against him.
