NUML Convocation; 849 Students Conferred Upon Degrees
At the 23rd Convocation of the National University of Modern Languages (NUML), held at the Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad on Wednesday, 849 students were awarded degrees, and 47 students received gold medals. The Chairman of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, served as the Chief Guest for the event.
The ceremony was attended by Rector NUML, Major General Shahid Mahmood Kayani HI (M) (Retd), Pro Rectors, Deans, Registrar, Directors, Heads of Departments, a large number of students, and their parents.
In his address, Dr. Mukhtar congratulated the graduates, their parents, and teachers on their achievements. He emphasized the importance of maintaining an ethical outlook in addition to academic and physical learning. He reminded the graduates of their moral and intellectual duties to use their talents for the progress of their country and the prosperity of their fellow citizens.
Dr. Mukhtar praised NUML for upholding high standards of quality and performance as an educational institution. He highlighted the opportunities available to graduates to seize future prospects. He also noted Pakistan’s wealth of natural resources and diverse culture, urging the graduates to explore this potential. He stressed that no country can progress without education and technology.
Earlier, Rector NUML Major General (Retd) Shahid Mahmood Kayani spoke about NUML’s achievements and contributions to various fields of education. Addressing the graduates, he emphasized their role as future guardians, tasked with using their talents and insights for the advancement of humanity and the preservation of the world. He acknowledged that the future holds endless possibilities, challenges, and dreams for the graduates to pursue.
The Rector underscored that the choices the graduates make will not only define their own destinies but also have the power to shape the future of the nation and the world.
