PM Shehbaz Constitutes Committee To Investigate Caretaker Govt’s Wheat Import Scheme

Justice (Retired) Mian Mushtaq has been appointed as the head of this committee.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif established a committee to investigate the wheat import scheme during the interim government, according to sources close to the development.

Justice (Retired) Mian Mushtaq was appointed as the committee’s head.

This decision comes amid growing concerns among local farmers facing hardships due to delays in the government’s wheat procurement from them.

The committee’s primary objective is to scrutinize the significant financial losses incurred by the national treasury and assess the necessity of the wheat imports.

Upon completing its investigation, the committee is scheduled to present its comprehensive report to Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif within a concise two-week timeframe.
