PTI Gets Court Permission To Hold Rally In NA-119
The Lahore High Court (LHC) has allowed the PTI to hold the rally, with directives to the relevant officials to specify the venue.
On Friday, the Lahore High Court (LHC) granted permission to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to organize a rally in NA-119 ahead of the by-election.
Justice Shahid Risal Hasan issued the order in response to a petition filed by PTI leader Shahzad Farooq. The counsel representing the PTI leader argued that the party intended to hold a rally before the by-election in NA-119.
The counsel highlighted that despite their intentions, the local administration had denied permission for the rally. They affirmed their readiness to conduct the rally at any location specified by the deputy commissioner’s office.
Furthermore, they requested the court to overturn the local administration’s decision prohibiting PTI from holding the rally in the constituency.
After considering the arguments presented, the court revoked the orders of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and instructed relevant officials to promptly inform the petitioner and his party about the rally venue.
It’s worth noting that the by-election in NA-119 is scheduled for April 21, as confirmed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), which has completed preparations for the event. Additionally, the ECP will oversee by-elections for 22 other vacant seats across provincial and National Assembly constituencies in the country.
