Karachi, Lahore and Quetta have won their matches by defeating their rivals on first day of National Women’s One-Day Cricket Tournament played at different sites in Faisalabad on Wednesday
On the first day of the National Women’s One-Day Cricket Tournament held at various venues in Faisalabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Quetta emerged victorious over their opponents.
In the match at Iqbal Stadium, Karachi faced Multan, securing a 6-wicket win. Multan, batting first, managed to score 116 runs in 36.3 overs, with Gull Firoza contributing 44 runs as the top scorer. Karachi’s bowlers, Masooma Zahra, Aiman Anwar, and Aroob Shah, each took 2 wickets. Karachi successfully chased down the target in the 24th over, losing 4 wickets in the process. Captain Amima Sohail led the charge with 49 runs, earning her the title of player of the match.
In another match at Bohranwali Ground, Lahore defeated Peshawar by 7 wickets. Peshawar, opting to bat first, posted a total of 166 runs in 32.5 overs, with opener Ayesha Zafar scoring an unbeaten 108 runs. Ayesha Bilal of Lahore claimed 4 wickets, while Anam Ameen took 3 wickets. Lahore comfortably chased down the target in the 31st over, with Dua Majid remaining not out on 66 runs and Kainat Hafeez contributing 61 runs. Ayesha Zafar was named player of the match for her outstanding performance.
At Jawad Club Cricket Ground, Quetta defeated Rawalpindi by 2 wickets. Rawalpindi, batting first, managed to score 80 runs in 43 overs, with Maham Anees top-scoring with 25 runs. Ramin Shamim of Quetta claimed 4 wickets for 16 runs. Quetta chased down the target in the 37th over, losing 8 wickets in the process. Ramin Shamim, with 27 runs, was awarded player of the match for her contribution. Tania Saeed of Rawalpindi took 3 wickets for 11 runs in the match.
