Bangladesh Rope In Pak Spin Great To Coaching Staff Ahead Of T20 WC
Bangladesh have added former Pakistan spinner Mushtaq Ahmed to their coaching staff ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024
Bangladesh has enlisted the expertise of former Pakistan spinner Mushtaq Ahmed to bolster their coaching staff in preparation for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024.
Mushtaq Ahmed will serve as the spin bowling coach for the Bangladesh Men’s team, commencing with the T20I series against Zimbabwe. He will retain this role until the conclusion of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, which will take place in the West Indies and USA.
Having previously held coaching positions with England (2008-2014), West Indies (2018-19), and Pakistan (2020-22), Mushtaq Ahmed brings a wealth of experience to the table.
Given the anticipated spin-friendly conditions in the West Indies and USA during the T20 World Cup, Mushtaq’s expertise will be particularly valuable for Bangladesh as they gear up for the tournament featuring 20 teams.
“It is a great honor for me to join the Bangladesh cricket team as a spin bowling coach,” Mushtaq stated in a statement released by the Bangladesh Cricket Board.
“I am eagerly looking forward to this role and am keen to share my experiences with the players. I believe they are very receptive to coaching, and I have always held the view that they are one of the most formidable teams in the cricketing world.
“They possess the capability, resources, and talent to defeat any opponent. My aim is to instill this belief within them. I am incredibly excited about this opportunity to work with the team.”
In preparation for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, Bangladesh will host Zimbabwe in a series of five T20Is starting next month.
