CM Punjab Approves Number Of Recommendations To Enhance Law&order

Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has approved a special audit system to uncover corruption and unprofessional conduct within the police department.
She has instructed the establishment of a specialized police unit to combat cybercrimes. Furthermore, the chief minister has sanctioned the implementation of a special court martial system to penalize police officials found colluding with corrupt mafias and criminals.
These decisions were made during a special meeting held on Saturday in Murree, chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, to review the overall law and order situation in the province. The Inspector General of Police provided a comprehensive briefing on the current law and order status across the province during the meeting.
During the meeting, discussions also centered around improving professional policing. Various proposals and recommendations were presented to take concrete steps to safeguard the lives and property of the people. Several recommendations were approved, and certain decisions were made by the chair during the meeting.
The chief minister instructed officials to enable the registration of complaints on the CM Punjab dashboard, where citizens could report instances of bribery if demanded by any police officials.
Approval was granted to establish a ‘Special Unit’ within the police department to tackle organized and cybercrime. Police personnel will receive necessary IT training to ensure a smooth and prompt response to crimes. Additionally, the proposal to establish border security forces to prevent smuggling was also discussed during the meeting.
The decision has been made in principle to establish dedicated specialized police forces for each type of crime, thereby implementing a more precise and specific investigation system.
Approval has also been granted to implement a Special Audit System to identify corruption and unprofessional behavior within the police force. Police officers and officials will be subject to a Special Court Martial.
In instances of bribery, complaints can be registered via the CM’s Special Dashboard. Additionally, approval has been given to vigorously conduct a campaign for the complete eradication of narcotics. It has been decided to draft legislation for imposing the death penalty on those found guilty of molesting women and children. CM Punjab has also instructed strict measures to eliminate the culture of illegal weapon possession, with amendments to relevant laws in this regard.
She directed the implementation of additional foolproof measures for the permanent eradication of kite-flying and the use of metal wire. She emphasized that stern punishment for culprits could significantly reduce crime. Asserting that it is the fundamental responsibility of the provincial government to protect the lives and property of every citizen, she announced the government’s commitment to providing the latest arms and ammunition, state-of-the-art equipment, night vision technology, and drones to further enhance police capabilities. She also instructed for an effective crackdown on terrorism, smuggling, and criminal gangs for their permanent eradication.
She stressed the urgent need to streamline the prosecution and investigation systems. Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb, Chief Secretary, Secretary Home, IG Police, Additional IGP, Commissioners, CCPO, RPO, and other officials also attended the meeting.
