40 Arrested Over Kite Flying Act Violation In 24 Hours

According to a Punjab Police spokesman on Saturday, April 6th, 2024, in the past 24 hours, 40 individuals were apprehended under the Kite Flying Act. Additionally, 42 cases were filed, and authorities seized 2296 kites along with 34 string wheels from the possession of the offenders.
The spokesperson stated that over the past 40 days, a total of 3779 suspects had been arrested under the Anti-Kite Flying Act, with 3646 cases being registered. Law enforcement authorities confiscated 229,096 kites and 15,963 spinning wheels from the possession of these individuals. Emphasizing the need for an intensified crackdown under the Anti-Kite Flying Act, he called for indiscriminate action against the manufacturing, sale, and use of metal strings and kites. The Inspector General of Punjab further emphasized the importance of enhancing awareness campaigns, including the installation of safety wires on motorcycles, to be more effective. Strict measures against violators were urged, with a call for appropriate punishment for those found guilty.
