E-Pay Punjab Collects Rs 400 Billion Revenue Through 50 Million+ Transactions
The Government of Punjab has achieved a milestone by collecting a record tax revenue exceeding Rs 400 billion through e-Pay Punjab, an online platform dedicated to the collection of government receipts. Moreover, the number of online transactions processed through the system has surpassed 50 million, reflecting a significant uptake in digital payments and demonstrating the efficacy of the online platform.
During a progress review meeting chaired by PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf, it was revealed that the Government of Punjab has achieved a record tax revenue of over Rs 400 billion through e-Pay Punjab, an online platform dedicated to collecting government receipts. Additionally, the number of online transactions processed through the system has surpassed 50 million, highlighting the significant uptake in digital payments.
During the meeting, participants were informed that there has been a notable increase in the trend of online payments by citizens, with over 3 million citizens having downloaded the app thus far. It is worth mentioning that the portal facilitates the payment of 84 different taxes across 18 departments, including the Punjab Land Records Authority.
Chairman Faisal Yousaf highlighted during the meeting that new services are continually being incorporated into e-Pay Punjab to ensure maximum convenience for citizens. The overarching goal is to streamline processes and enhance accessibility to government services for the public.
Developed by PITB in collaboration with the Punjab Finance Department and 1 Link, e-Pay Punjab enables payments through various channels, including ATM, internet banking, mobile banking, or over-the-counter transactions at nearby 1Link member banks. Additionally, taxes can be paid through Telco Agents and mobile wallets, providing citizens with multiple options for completing transactions.
